happy friday!

Whee! I'm excited for this weekend. I'm going to a party for my dear friend Peter, who has successfully completed his six months of chemotherapy and is returning to his old self with gusto. Additionally, one of my best friends from high school, Will (see above photos), is coming to town. Will and I have been friends since we were fifteen, which isn't really that long, but I feel like I've known him forever. For the past few years Will's been going to school in New York City (he's a painter), so we haven't gotten to spend much time together. It was actually a year ago this week that I saw him last, when I was in NYC last summer.

So what do you have going on this weekend?

Here's some fun from around the web...

I'm alive!

Here's what's been going on:

I finished my coursework for my BAJ, moved back in with my parents, said a sad goodbye to my beautiful dog, Delilah, who I've had since I was seven years old, spent as much time as possible in my friends' and neighbors' pools, completed a photo archiving project I've been wanting to do for years now and tried to catch up on my reading.

Also, my computer broke right after I returned from Japan, hence the month-long hiatus from blogging.

I'm back and excited to be!

A month around the world and now I'm back in the U.S.A. It's funny how being away makes you appreciate home so much more. There are little things you miss— for me, I missed cooking in my kitchen, driving and my iPhone. And of course, my family and friends. Travel is great because it reminds me of my equal appreciation for both the jet-set and the old Chevrolet-set.

I hope you have a most incredible and celebratory Independence Day!

I plan to listen to "Born in the U.S.A." by Bruce Springsteen and "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A." by John Mellencamp! P.S. I'm also a huge fan of Lea Michele's cover of "Firework."
